Rare George III Double Duty Mother of Pearl Hafted Silver Bladed Folding Fruit Knife. The mother of pearl handle is decorated with horizontal lines across and has an oval cartouche to the centre of the handle with initials engraved on it. The knife has a diagonally striped solid silver spine along the edge of the piece. The knife blade is punched with two George III Heads to represent the double of duty paid on silver. This mark was only used for 9 months during 1797.
Condition:Good. The spring is good, as the blade snaps in and out of the handle. Length open is 5.75 Inches and closed is 3.1 Inches.
